Fractures

Fractures is the moniker of London-based Australian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Mark Zito.

Spanning multiple genres across an illustrious discography, Zito’s work has found the support of industry tastemakers The Guardian, Fader, Rolling Stone and has seen him tour the world with artists such as Amy Shark, Holy Holy, Vance Joy and Daughter alongside local performances at iconic Australian festivals Splendour in The Grass and Beyond the Valley.

Amassing 100 million+ streams across his works, Zito has more recently carved out a niche for himself in the electronic world, contributing his melancholic, euphoric voice to releases alongside Lane 8, il:lo, Keanler, Arty’s ALPHA 9 project, Paraleven, Sultan + Shepard and Jerro – supported on heavyweight labels Anjuna, Nettwerk, This Never Happened, Monstercat Silk and Rufus Du Sol’s Rose Avenue Records.

Not content as a singular top-liner, Zito channelled a psylocibin-induced epiphany into a newfound dance/electronica directive – writing, producing, recording and releasing his sophomore album, ‘Shift’ in 2023. With co-production from Australian heavyweight, Simon Lam of KLLO and mixing from Grammy award winning producer, Cassian – standout tracks like ‘Burnt’, ‘Last’ and ‘Do Nothing’ earned Zito international editorial playlisting across Spotify and Apple Music alongside radio spots between BBC Radio 1 (Sian Eleri) and triple J, whilst single ‘Medium’ landed a Top 40 finalist placement in the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition.

Finding himself abroad in the United Kingdom following the release of ‘Shift’, Zito continued collaborating with a fresh set of sonic contemporaries, building demos for his forthcoming releases with some of the UK’s best local music exports including Will Clarke, Joe Hertz, OCULA, il:lo, Natasia (Fickle Friends), Jacana People and many more.

With the fruits of his newfound writing explorations in tow, Zito looks towards a permanent relocation to the United Kingdom and a string of exciting new releases in 2024.
